Equipment for determination of natural weight (Natura) of grain
Grain kernel bulk is the weight of a volume of grain. Therefore, it is often referred to as the bulk weight of grain, as opposed to the weight of 1,000 seeds. Miscellaneous impurities are usually lighter than the grain. They impair the quality and reduce the natures of the grain. Increased moisture also reduces natures.
The higher the natura, the better the total quality of the grain, and vice versa. But, natures can sometimes give a wrong total estimate of the grain. Small and broken grains, as well as small heavy impurities, which are in between the grains, increase natura, but worsen the quality.
Determine the nature of the grain of wheat, rye, oats, barley, oilseeds sunflower.
For this purpose, use a purse with a glass volume of 1 liter. Natures are expressed by the number of grams of grain in a volume of 1 liter.
Natura is calculated with an accuracy of 0.5 g. Allowable deviations in two parallel determinations of the natura of the same sample should not exceed 5 g, and for oats and sunflowers - 10 g.
