Sampling

For an objective assessment of quality indicators, thoroughness of sampling is of great importance.
Therefore, it is extremely important to obtain the most representative sample.
Incorrect sampling, can lead to incorrect results and, therefore, incorrect calculations.
Quality is determined by laboratory analysis of the average sample and this is the main condition for objective evaluation.
Average sample for all indicators - physical and chemical - must necessarily correspond to the quality of the batch.
A batch of a product is any quantity, homogeneous in quality, which is simultaneously delivered, received or stored.
Each batch, first evaluated organoleptically, and then, having made sure of homogeneity,
begin taking a combined sample.
If a non-specific smell is detected in the batch, no samples are taken and the product is immediately returned to the producer.
If in the process of organoleptic evaluation, no deviations are found, then proceed to the sampling.
The number of samples for analysis depends on the tonnage of a particular batch.
Cone probes, cylindrical probes, bag probes and automatic samplers are used for sampling. Hand styli take point samples of grain from the upper and lower layer, and cylindrical hand samplers and automatic samplers take the whole depth of the grain embankment.
