The BenchMasher provides fast and efficient mixing for consistent homogenization. It is ideal for sample preparation in which critical contaminants, such as pathogen and microbe detection in food and water filters, are eliminated. The BenchMasher is also used wherever larger solid samples need to be broken down or products such as powders and polymers need to be mixed.

Samples up to 400 ml are conveniently loaded into sterile instrument bags that seal when the door is closed. Mixing paddles quickly strike the bags, producing thorough mixing and homogenization without direct contact with the sample. Programming is user-friendly - mixing speed and cycle time are easily adjusted on the large, full-color touch screen. The paddle position can be adjusted to ensure efficient sample processing. For studies that require thermoregulation (e.g. testing for trichinella in meat) the chamber can be heated and maintained at temperatures up to 65° C.

The door is removable for access to the chamber and stainless steel mixing paddles. Each paddle includes a convenient rubber cover that is easily removed or replaced. Ultraviolet light (254 nm) is built into the chamber and can be activated at any time to perform chamber disinfection.
