The MIXER XLQ benchtop vortex mixer was designed for use in QuEChERS and other sample preparation methods. Supplied with racks for 50 ml tubes held horizontally and 15 ml and 1.5 / 2.0 ml tubes held vertically, it takes the place of traditional manual shaking in these applications.
Multiple samples can be processed simultaneously in large-capacity MIXER XLQ racks, saving time and preventing operator fatigue. Vigorous, constant shaking ensures that all samples are exposed to the same conditions in the same batch of samples as well as between batches.
The Mixer XLQ creates a true vortex in the vertical sample racks by holding the top of the tube stationary while the bottom orbits 3.6 mm. Time and speed are accurately controlled by a digital microprocessor. Pulse mode allows for more vigorous stirring. Silent operation, minimal vibration and long life are guaranteed by a precisely balanced drive system and a powerful motor.
Using the Mixer XLQ is easy. To load the sample racks, loosen the handles on the stationary steel rods and lift the upper sample plate. One rod is shorter than the other, allowing the plate to be lifted up and rotated to one side. After loading the samples, lower the plate into place and tighten the knobs. Select the desired speed and run time on the digital control panel and press the Start button. The Mixer XLQ can run unattended in as little as 1 minute or up to 100 hours.
The Mixer XLQ is configured primarily for QUECHERS protocols, additional racks are available to accommodate virtually any type of utensil commonly found in the lab. Built for heavy-duty use, the unit is backed by a 2-year warranty.
