The method is a mechanized version of the slump test and includes determining the ease of placement of fresh concrete by vibrating the concrete after removing the slump cone. The assembly is mounted on a small vibrating table operating at a fixed amplitude and frequency.

The time required to complete the required vibration indicates the workability of the concrete. The kit includes a vibrating table, a sediment cone, a graduated rod with a clear plate, a filler and a tamping rod.
